DeepSeek Open-Sourced an Always-On Coding Agent. Its Workers Can Run Commands Without Approval, and It Was Only Tested on Simulated Tools.

deepseek-ai/dsh-superagent-prototype is an MIT-licensed TypeScript bundle for DeepSeek Harness: a Router plus isolated Worker sessions bound to one GitHub repository, with optional Feishu, that turns allowed requests into work items and pull requests. The README calls it a research prototype for reference only, not an official DeepSeek product, and says much of it was written by coding agents. In auto accept mode, Workers can run commands as the operator's OS user without per-command approval. The latency figures circulating, a p95 of 15.7 minutes against 29.5, come from MarkTechPost on synthetic messages and simulated tools. We read the repository.

Google Is Killing Jules. Sessions End November 11, It Goes Read-Only, and It Shuts Down December 31. The Export Script Hits Undocumented APIs and Dumps Env Vars in Plaintext.

Google's Jules changelog for October 29 says the coding agent winds down December 31, 2026, with new sessions ending November 11 and read-only access through year end. Learnings move into Google Antigravity, with no one-to-one migration promised. The official export path is the Jules CLI plus a prompt you paste into another agent; Google's own notes say that prompt pulls settings, env vars, and memories from an internal RPC endpoint and sessions from undocumented REST endpoints, and writes env-variables.json in plaintext. Copilot Fusion Hits Near-Opus Coding Agent Scores at About Half the Cost per Task. You Do Not Pick the Model, and Discarded Drafts Can Leave File Edits Behind.

GitHub Copilot Fusion went generally available on October 28 in VS Code, the Copilot CLI, the Copilot app, and JetBrains: a runtime router across Claude Opus and Sonnet 5.5, GPT-6 Astra and Sol, and others, with Single, Cascade, and Critique patterns and Standard, High, and Max effort. Artificial Analysis scores Fusion Max at 60 on its Coding Agent Index, within two points of Claude Code with Opus 5.5, at $5.59 per task against $11.42. GitHub's docs say a discarded draft does not undo file edits already made, the context window is the smallest member model's, and paid plans get 30% off Fusion model costs through November 30. Cursor Says Its Agents Can Now Control Your Computer. The Changelog Has No Desktop-Control Entry.

Cursor's X account announced on October 23 that Cursor can now control your computer, with agents driving desktop apps such as the iOS Simulator. As of October 25 the public changelog has no matching desktop-control entry; its newest items are earlier October features such as remote control for local agents, which is a different thing. Grok Bot Can Now Keep Your Passwords and Cards in a Vault. The Changelog Does Not Say Whether Vault Entries Are Per-Bot or Shared.

Grok Bot v0.75.5, shipped October 23, adds a Vault for logins, cards, and contact details that Bots fill to sign in or check out, lets Auto-review send the emails and Slack messages you explicitly asked for, and raises routine caps to 300 runs an hour. The changelog says a Vault, singular, and does not say whether entries are scoped per Bot or shared across the one computer every Bot already shares. US Banks Are Blocking Credential-Based AI Agents. Even With Your Permission, Shared Logins Break Most Bank Rules.

Axios reported on October 22 that major US banks are detecting third-party AI agents inside customer accounts, some acting beyond the user's instructions, and moving to block or restrict them. Morgan Stanley has begun blocking third-party agents, per Axios's sources; JPMorgan, Bank of America, and Citi are restricting. A Chase spokesperson's advice is not to give your username and password to anyone, and the industry direction is read-only aggregator access rather than full logins. Anthropic opened a research preview of Claude Duet on October 21: a proactive agent on Opus 5.5 with its own VM and browser, on iOS, Android, and claude.ai, included in Pro and Max for a US waitlist. The catches: it draws on the same usage limits as your chat, it checks in only every few hours because nonstop would burn the cap, it blocks trading securities and moving money even with your approval, and there is no Team, Enterprise, API, or separate price. Grok Bot Now Comes Bundled in The X Subscription. It Still Shares One Computer, and It Still Won't Say Which Model Runs It.

On October 12 SpaceXSI, the company formerly xAI, folded SuperGrok, Cursor, and X Premium into one plan with five tiers from free to $200 a month, and put Grok Bot on the $30 Premium tier and up. Three weeks of changes came with it: Team Bots in public beta, Slack approval cards, a proactive Primary Bot, Bots with their own email addresses, and a corporate rename. The catch is what did not change. The docs still say all your Bots share one cloud computer and 'Do not use separate Bots as a security boundary,' no page names the model behind the Bot, and the plan page prints usage multiples with no base number. Google Cloud announced the Gemini agent on October 8, 2026: one agent that plans work, spins up temporary sub-agents, and can run as a persistent coworker with its own email, calendar, and Drive, routing each job across Gemini models and Anthropic's Claude under per-project spend caps. The catch is that no availability date and no price appear on any Google page. Private preview, no additional charge, and an end-of-October rollout are all Google statements relayed by the press, and Google's own doc says the hard spend cap can be overshot for a few minutes.
